Intel System Studio 2018 Getting Started Guide
To launch Intel® System Studio for a Windows* target, click Start and select Intel System Studio for Windows target > Documentation and Getting Started
These steps use the Intel® C++ Compiler to build and run a sample Hello World application on a local Windows* system.
Step 1: Install and open the Hello World sample
Copy the contents of <install_dir>\samples_2018\hello_world\ directory to a writable directory on your system.
Note that the default <install_dir> for the samples is [Program Files (x86)]\IntelSWTools\.
From the Visual Studio* menu, select File > Open > Project/Solution.
The Open Project dialog box opens.
In the Open Project dialog box, browse to the location where you extracted the hello_world sample files and select the hello_world.sln file.
The solution is added to Visual Studio and shows up in the Solution Explorer. It automatically inherits Visual Studio settings and uses the currently opened project as a target project.
Step 2: Build the target in Release mode
From the Visual Studio* menu, select Project > Intel Compiler > Use Intel C++.
Go to the Build > Configuration Manager dialog box and select the Release mode for your project.
Click Close.
From the Visual Studio menu, select Build > Build hello_world.
The hello_world.exe application is built.
Step 3: Run the target
From the Visual Studio* menu, select Debug > Start Debugging.

Intel System Studio Log Files |
The Intel® System Studio installer writes log files to AppData\Local\Temp\. These log file names start with pset, end with a timestamp, and have the extension *.log. For example, C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\pset_tmp_ISS2018WT_Administrator Intel® System Studio writes pairs of log files to a subdirectory in AppData\Local\Temp\. The subdirectory name has the format iss_env_$USER_$TIMESTAMP. The session.log file contains environment settings. The eclipse.log file contains a session log. For example: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\pset_tmp_ISS2018WT_Administrator.log. |
