Intel® C++ Compiler 19.0 Developer Guide and Reference Supplement for Intel® System Studio 2019

Wind River* Workbench IDE: Integrating on Wind River* Linux* and Windows* Hosts

Intel® System Studio provides integration layer support for Wind River* Workbench to use the Intel® C++ Compiler and other Intel® Performance Libraries, to develop applications or platforms. The integration layer supports Wind River* Linux* versions 7.0 to 8.0.

Workbench integration occurs automatically during Intel® System Studio installation when you select the Integrate to Wind River* Linux and Wind River* Workbench checkbox, provided Wind River Linux and Workbench are already installed on your system.

If you install Intel® System Studio before installing Wind River Linux and Workbench, you ignore the automatic integration step during installation and you must manually integrate the Workbench IDE when you install Wind River Linux and Workbench.

To manually integrate Intel® System Studio with Wind River Workbench, perform the following steps:

  1. On Linux Host Systems:

Copy the Workbench integration layer folder, /wr-iss-2019, from its Intel® System Studio install location, to the Wind River Linux installation folder via the command line, as follows:

    $cp -r <ISS_BASE_DIR>/wr-iss-2019 <WIND_HOME>/

Where <ISS_BASE_DIR> by default is: /opt/intel/system_studio_2019/ and <WIND_HOME> is the Wind River Linux installation folder.

  2. On Windows* Host Systems:

Copy the Workbench integration layer folder, \wr-iss-2019, from its default Intel® System Studio install location, C:\Program Files (x86)\IntelSWTools\system_studio_2019\, to the Wind River Linux installation folder, <WIND_HOME>\.

  3. Run the post-installation script: postinst_wr_iss.sh.

    Note

You may need root or Administrator permission to perform this step.

On Linux Host: In the shell console, go to the <WIND_HOME>/ folder, and enter the following:

    $wr-iss-2019/wr-setup/postinst_wr_iss.sh <ISS_BASE_DIR>

On Windows Host: In the Windows command console, go to the <WIND_HOME>\ folder, and enter the following:

    >wr-iss-2019/wr-setup/postinst_wr_iss.bat <ISS_BASE_DIR>

  4. To uninstall Workbench, perform these steps.

    Note

You may need root or Administrator permission to perform this step.

On Linux Host: In the shell console, go to <WIND_HOME>/ folder and run the uninst_wr_iss.sh script:

    $wr-iss-2019/wr-setup/uninst_wr_iss.sh

On Windows Host: In the Windows command console, go to <WIND_HOME>\ folder and run the uninst_wr_iss.bat script:

    >wr-iss-2019/wr-setup/uninst_wr_iss.bat

Wind River Workbench is now integrated with Intel® System Studio. You can use the Intel® C++ Compiler and the Intel® Performance Libraries to develop applications or platforms for Wind River Linux target systems.
